Academic excellence has always been a part of Soror Stroud’s life. She entered Fayetteville State University (FSU) after graduating from Second Ward High School at the tender age of 15. After graduating from Fayetteville State Univ. in 1941, Soror Stroud dedicated her life to a career in education, serving the children of Charlotte-Mecklenburg for thirty years. “Miss” Daisy, as she was affectionately called, had been an active member of the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter for over thirty years and was an intricate partner in advocating to ensure the success of the Deltas of Charlotte Foundation.
As a community activist and visionary, Miss Daisy spoke out and wrote editorials to bring awareness to social justice issues.
