Greetings Sorors, Guests and Community Friends,
Welcome! On behalf of the officers and members, it is an honor and a pleasure as the 27th President of the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to welcome you to our website. The Charlotte Alumnae Chapter was chartered on July 8, 1942, and for over 70 years, we have been a pillar in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community rendering countless hours of service and remaining socially active. Collectively, we work together and with community partners to develop and implement programs that benefit the “Queen City” of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization with a rich history. We recently celebrated 100 years of dedication to Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service. As we continue in this new century of Delta Sigma Theta, we will remain true to our National President’s theme: “Uncompromising Commitment to Communities: Service, Leadership, Empowerment.”
Our major programs are based on the Sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust:
International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement
We are honored and proud in the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter to be the home to our immediate past National Treasurer, Terri Rivalte, CPA and 20th National President, Dr. Bertha Maxwell Roddey. We are proud of our chapter’s many accomplishments and look forward to realizing our theme for the next biennium “Making a Difference” in Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service.”
If you are new to the Charlotte area or have a desire to reconnect with Delta Sigma Theta, we will be happy to have you join us. I encourage you to email us with your questions and visit our site often for updates and new information.
Yours in service,
Pamela Murphy Lewis, President
